Blake Madden is the Founder and Creator of Hospitalogy, a newsletter and ecosystem affiliated with Workweek Media and purpose-built to bring the latest insights on health system transformation.

Prior to founding Hospitalogy, Blake worked at VMG Health, a healthcare-specific consulting firm, where he provided valuation and transaction advisory services for clients across all healthcare verticals including nonprofit health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care centers, imaging centers, physician practices, and post-acute care.
Dr. Jonathan Slotkin is Chief Medical Officer for Strategy & Growth at Geisinger, where he drives growth at the intersection of care delivery, insurance, and digital transformation. A practicing neurosurgeon, he previously served as Geisinger's associate chief medical informatics officer.
Jon's current research and writing examine safety, trust, and adoption of autonomous systems in public life. His New York Times guest essay on self-driving car safety was entered into the Congressional Record. His writing regularly appears in Harvard Business Review, STAT, and Noema Magazine. He has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Previously, as co-founder and chief medical officer of Contigo Health, he partnered with the nation's largest employers to reimagine care for their associates. He co-founded Scrub Capital, a clinician-powered venture capital firm, where he serves as a Partner. He completed neurosurgery residency at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he served as chief resident.
Nadia Smati, MD, is a Partner at Ainsley Health, a healthcare strategy firm, where she works with health systems and healthcare technology companies on AI and health technology evaluation, governance, and implementation.
She is a board-certified internist, clinical informatics fellow, and clinical faculty member, where she leads clinical AI education for physicians. Her work focuses on clinical data integrity, AI implementation in frontline clinical workflows, and the impact of emerging technologies on patient communication and care delivery.
Dr. Lee is Chief Medical Officer for Press Ganey Associates, Inc, and Editor-in-Chief of NEJM Catalyst. He is an internist and cardiologist, practices primary care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Prior to assuming his role at Press Ganey, he was Network President for Partners Healthcare System, the integrated delivery system founded by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a graduate of Harvard College, Cornell University Medical College, and Harvard School of Public Health. He trained in internal medicine and cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He is the author of nine books including Chaos and Organization in Health Care (2009), Eugene Braunwald and the Rise of Modern Medicine (2013), The Good Doctor (2020), and Social Capital in Healthcare (2025). He has published more than 500 articles in peer-reviewed publications and leading periodicals including The New England Journal of Medicine, Harvard Business Review, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
Dr. Neil Gheewala serves as Chief Medical Officer of Value-Based Care for US Heart & Vascular, where he leads the organization's clinical strategy to improve quality, access and patient outcomes through physician-led, value-based cardiovascular care.
Working closely with physicians and operational leaders across the enterprise, he helps develop innovative care models that enhance the patient experience, improve population health and preserve the independence of community cardiology practices.
In addition to his physician leadership role, Dr. Gheewala is a board-certified structural and interventional cardiologist with Pima Heart & Vascular in Tucson, Arizona. He specializes in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease and structural heart disease, performing advanced minimally invasive procedures including transcatheter valve therapies, structural heart interventions and high-risk coronary interventions. He has a passion for taking care of patients with complex medical conditions and focusing on longitudinal care management.
Mike's practice is devoted primarily to assisting health care providers with practical solutions to the rapidly expanding challenges associated with implementing, managing and interconnecting health information technology (HIT). He effectively demystifies the world of technology and law to assist leaders in making informed decisions about how to leverage technology to achieve their organization's strategic goals.
He regularly advises clients on physician/hospital transactions, as well as provides general regulatory guidance related to federal Stark Law, Anti-Kickback, Fraud and Abuse, HIPAA, HITECH and state data security laws. He advises numerous health systems on the development and implementation of electronic health record (EHR) solutions, EHR subsidy programs, meaningful use compliance and legal considerations associated with the virtual front door.
Mike works with health systems and hospitals to establish robust data management practices and implement artificial intelligence (AI) governance processes. He assists health care leaders in making informed decisions about the ever-evolving use of AI, focusing on both technology and the workforce that interacts with it.
Additionally, Mike's legal experience extends to the field of virtual care, where he provides strategic guidance on the development and implementation of dedicated virtual care programs. He is involved in advising on digital health and remote monitoring technologies, helping providers leverage data to gain a holistic view of patient health.
